What Is a Break Time Calculator?

A Break Time Calculator helps you determine how much time you spend on breaks during a work period. It calculates the total elapsed time, adds the duration of your breaks, and subtracts break time to show your net working time.

This is useful for employees, freelancers, students, remote workers, and anyone who wants to keep track of working and break periods.

How to Calculate Break Time

To calculate break time, first determine the total period between your work start and end times. Then calculate the duration of every break and add those durations together.

Example: If you work from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, your total elapsed time is 8 hours. If you take a 30-minute break, your net working time is 7 hours and 30 minutes.

Net Work Time = Total Elapsed Time − Total Break Time
