What Is a Business Day?

A business day generally refers to a weekday on which normal business operations take place. For this calculator, Monday through Friday are treated as business days, while Saturday and Sunday are treated as weekends and excluded.

Public holidays can also be non-working days, but holidays vary by country, region, employer, and industry. This is why the calculator allows you to enter specific holiday dates manually.

How Business Days Are Calculated

The calculator checks each date within the selected range. A date is counted as a business day when it falls on Monday through Friday and is not listed as a holiday.

Business Days vs. Calendar Days
